Hairy Bikers' Dave Myers honoured with ride out as Si says 'he'd have loved it'

The TV chef passed away in February at the age of 66 following a battle with cancer

Hundreds of bikers took to the streets for a ride out in memory of 66-year-old TV chef Dave Myers on Sunday.

In a message on social media, he thanked everyone taking part in the ride, which started at Beverley Market Place in Yorkshire before moving through various north Yorkshire towns including Scagglethorpe and Pickering and ending at Scarborough beach. On the Hairy Bikers Instagram account, alongside a photo of the motorcyclists stationed at the initial meeting point, Si wrote: “I hope the ride out goes well for you all. Many many thanks for remembering Dave in this way. He would have loved it. Dave’s family, friends and I are really touched. Love to you all, be safe.”

Photos show hundreds of bikers taking part in the ride out, which was also put on to raise funds for cancer charities - including many wearing t-shirts with photos of Dave on.
