Residents across the Gulf Coast are enjoying an unexpected winter wonderland brought on by a rare and heavy snowfall. Many took advantage of the day off to build snowmen, have snowball fights, and sled down hills.
It was a winter wonderland spectacle that many took the time out to enjoy.Mary Elizabeth Kimbrough was out walking her dog Frankie as she enjoyed the beautiful snow.
“The last time it snowed like this I was 13, and I’m way older than that now, and I remember we built a snowman,” Kimbrough said. “And we decorated them with camellias. But this is just beautiful. The sky, all these big flakes, and everything just so covered up in white. It’s gorgeous and it’s not even that cold. You can get out and enjoy it.”Across the street from Kimbrough, Cassidy, Koagen, and Ryan were enjoying their day off from school with a snowball fight.
“So we had a snow day in Birmingham but it was nothing like this,” student Auria Franklin said. “Like this is completely different like it’s beautiful. It’s real deep snow and yeah I’m just having fun.” College students didn’t have all fun....FOX10 News Reporter Ariel Mallory even took a slide down the hill.
