Brayan Rocchio was named Clipper of the Year by Cleveland's Triple-A affiliate.CLEVELAND, Ohio — Guardians top prospect Brayan Rocchio received the 2023 Clipper of the Year award during a pregame ceremony Sunday at Huntington Park in Columbus.

Currently rated by MLB Pipeline as the top prospect in Cleveland’s farm system and No. 47 overall, Rocchio played in 116 games for Columbus in his first full season at the Triple‐A level. The 22‐year‐old infielder led the club in batting average, hits, doubles, triples, steals, and on‐base percentage.

Rocchio also posted a .970 fielding percentage at shortstop while also playing second and third base and batting leadoff. The top signee of the 2017 international free agent class, Rocchio finished in the top 10 in the International League in doubles and triples. On May 6, Rocchio delivered a game-winning hit as the Clippers defeated Iowa, 4‐3, in extra innings. He made his major league debut 10 days later for the Guardians and collected a hit against the White Sox. Rocchio has appeared in 19 games for Cleveland in 2023.
