) - Two long-time business in Millbrook are growing. On Tuesday, Millbrook city officials joined leaders with Garner Electric to break ground on a new facility with Garner and Associates Engineering PC.
The companies will stay on Main Street, though they’ll be moving about a mile north near the Millbrook Chamber of Commerce building.“This exciting project represents a significant investment in downtown Millbrook and marks another step forward in the city’s continued economic growth,” said the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce. “The new facility will serve as the headquarters for both Garner Electric, Inc., a trusted electrical service and contracting company, and Garner & Associates Engineering PC, a leader in engineering services. Harris Garner, the company’s president and longtime Millbrook resident, says he wanted to keep the business in the city. “My thought process was always to give back,” Garner explained, “give back to the community. If I give back to the community and help the community, the community will help me grow, and our business has done that.” Garner Electric has been in Millbrook for about 30 years and provides electrical services on the residential and commercial and levels.
