It is set to premiere on FX on September 25, 2024.The first look at Grotesquerie follows Detective Lois Tryon as she tries to figure out the mystery between a series of crimes taking place in her small community. The series also showcases the ensemble cast for the show, which includes Courtney B. Vance, Lesley Manville, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and NFL star Travis Kelce.
“In Grotesquerie, a series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community. Detective Lois Tryon feels these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone – or something – is taunting her. At home, Lois grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter, a husband in long-term hospital care and her own inner demons,” reads the official logline. “With no leads and unsure of where to turn, she accepts the help of Sister Megan, a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian.
Grotesquerie is written and created by Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken, with the Glee creator also directing alongside Max Winkler, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Elegance Bratton. It is executive produced by Nash-Betts, Vance, Winkler, Woodall, Baitz, Peter Liguori, Nissa Diederich, Eric Kovtun, and Scott Robertson.
