The minor party's housing spokesman accused the government of instead seeking to"pick a fight with the Greens" on the issue, suggesting Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was set on a plan to"reject good ideas." The demand for a rental freeze is unlikely to gain much traction, with Labor having already repeatedly refused to entertain the proposal.
That scheme, similar to the Morrison government's First Home Buyer Guarantee Scheme, would help Australians seeking to buy their first home through a shared equity arrangement with the government.
