The world No. 14 had to withdraw from her home tournament, the US Open starting today in Iowa, due to leg injury.
She had to skip it after aggravating her right Achilles injury in the Canada Open last week and suffered an abdomen cramp in the semi-finals.
Beiwen, who is fondly known as ‘Grandma’ among the badminton fraternity, was disappointed that she could not compete in her home tournament but has vowed to return to the court as soon as possible.
