The kayaks arrived in last winter, but the cold weather stopped some from using the kayaks until now. You can find the self-service station between access points one and two at the park.
Grab your paddle because kayaks are now available for rent in a self-service station at the boat ramp between access one and two at Craighead Forest Park .
The kayaks arrived at the park in November but did not get much use in the cold weather. Kapales says the summer heat is their time to shine. “It was so much fun. It was my first time kayaking and I would do it over and over,” said Bethania Baray-Harrison, who rented a kayak from the park before and called it easy.
“When you bring it back, basically all you gotta do is slide it back in with all the equipment, take your picture of the kayak back in place and then shut the door,” Kapales added.
