Soon, several roads in Ariton will get a much-needed makeover.
Governor Kay Ivey was in the Dale County town Monday morning as part of the Rebuild Alabama tour.ARITON, Ala. - State lawmakers passed the Rebuild Alabama Act in 2019. At the time, it was met with scrutiny, largely due to the act including a gradual increase to the state tax on gas by ten cents.
“When I took office in 2017, improving infrastructure was a top priority for us. At that time, we had not increased our investment in infrastructure in 30 years,“ Governor Ivey recalled. “Rebuild Alabama has been a major effort and very strong success in all 67 counties, even the small counties like . We are proud to be here and proud to pave your roads. Paved roads are safe roads and safe roads lead to economic development,” Governor Ivey said.
