Gov. Mike DeWine on Friday expressed “serious concerns” about delays in removing more than 24,000 tons of contaminated soil around the East Palestine train derailment site, saying it was being held up by “red tape.”

COLUMBUS, Ohio—

“All licensed hazardous waste facilities in the country are well equipped to dispose of this soil -- and, quite frankly, much more dangerous waste -- in a safe manner,” DeWine said in a statement. “It’s time to get this process moving.”
