The funding includes $100,000 each for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the state’s seven regional drug task forces, which together make up the Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force. The group allows law enforcement agencies to work together across jurisdictions to investigate narcotics cases statewide.
State leaders say the goal is to strengthen collaboration, target drug traffickers, and remove illegal drugs from communities. According to ALEA, the task force made 908 arrests in 2025 and seized about $490,000 along with various illegal drugs.
