A Frisco man is thanking the Good Samaritan who stopped to help after he experienced a sudden cardiac arrest while driving. The 18-wheeler driver performed CPR until paramedics arrived, saving the man's life.

A Frisco man is thanking the Good Samaritan who saved his life one year after a sudden cardiac arrest that happened while he was driving along I-635. In December 2023, Brandon Brogdon, his wife and 18-year-old daughter were on their way to a family get-together at 10:30 in the morning, when the 51-year-old experienced a sudden cardiac arrest while behind the wheel. Brogdon lost consciousness instantaneously. 'He completely collapsed, head down,' said Holly Brogdon, Brandon's wife.

'My daughter in the back seat said ‘Dad!’ I looked saw him completely lifeless, grabbed the wheel as we were still on 635 in the right hand lane, and God had his foot over the brake, undoubtedly, because somehow we came to a stop without crashing.' The Brogdon's daughter spoke to 911 operators while Holly waved for help from drivers. An 18-wheeler driver stopped to block traffic. Constantino Rodriguez Morales was on his way to work at the restaurant he owns, Don Chabe Steaks in Deep Ellum. He got out of his car, reclined Brogdon's seat, loosened the seatbelt and started chest compression, like he learned from a Red Cross class. Rodriguez also spent three years as a police officer in Mexico where he did CPR on the job. 'He ran to Brandon passionately, just did chest compressions the entire time, which was probably at least 8 minutes, he did not take a breath,' Holly recalled. Mesquite Fire Department paramedics, who were delayed by traffic and a misunderstanding about the highway location, arrived and took over. 'After we got to the hospital they told me they shocked him 4 times to get him to come back,' said Holly. 'God allowed and spared his life.' Rodriguez told FOX 4 he normally does not take 635 to work, but believes it was divine intervention that he did that day. Brandon was on life support for more than two days. The family met Rodriguez soon after Brandon's recovery and recently had a one-year of life celebration at his restaurant
