The blue Skoda taxi was flagged down by the assailants on Langbar Crescent near to Edinburgh Road in the Easterhouse area at around 11.35pm last night (Thursday, August 23).

Police have launched an urgent appeal after two men pulled a knife on a Glasgow taxi driver and stole his vehicle last night .

The taxi was later abandoned after crashing into a tree near to St Lukes Avenue in Carluke. Detective Sergeant Scott McNulty said: “Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances surrounding this robbery and we are appealing for any potential witnesses to get in touch.
