Riverside Museum warned visitors of the closure on social media. They wrote: "If you are coming by subway today, alight at Partick station - the Govan-Partick bridge is closed all day due to high winds."READ MORE: Storm Ashley Glasgow travel warning as ScotRail say services could be disrupted A Facebook post by Govan-Partick Bridge read: "In order to permit passage of PS Waverley the Govan-Partick Bridge will now be closed to pedestrian/cycle traffic from 0600 on Sunday 20 October. Due to the forecast high winds the bridge will remain closed until 0600 on Monday 21 October 2024."
It comes as a yellow warning for wind is in place for Glasgow up until midnight tonight . Gusts above 50mph are predicted for much of the day, reaching 65mph by the evening. A number of Glasgow flights have been cancelled today and warnings are also in place for disruption to rail and road travel. ScotRail said most services may be subject to delay or cancellation between Sunday night and Monday morning.
