A GLASGOW trio act has spoken about how"surreal" their journey has been ahead of their first hometown show in four years.
Comedy act Weegie Hink Ae That features Glaswegians Gregor MacKay, Conor Hardie and Elliot Hannigan from Coatbridge who all met at Edinburgh Napier University while they all took a course in acting.Gregor, 27, said:"We could never have really imagined it would get to this point."We have aspirations in our head for the future such as doing a show at the SECC but the Pavillion is a mega one.
The road to the Pavilion started after the group found it difficult to get work within a fiercely competitive market. Gregor began writing small sketches that the trio all found funny and appealed to their humour, and it was at Edinburgh's Fringe Festival that Weegie Hink Ae That really took off after sharing their act for free with audiences.
He said:"I started to write these wee sketches because I thought they might be funny, and that was when we put a small show together."But from there it just started to kick off as we realised there was a bit of a market for sketch comedy. "People are missing things like Still Game a lot at the minute and that is why we capitalised on it."
