NSTsports: Donati admitted that the mid-table clubs will have to find ways to increase their revenues to be major players in their leagues. LaLigaEN GrupoMEDIAPRO LevanteUDen
However, Spanish club Levante UD do not see it that way even though they have to live in the shadows of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Donati said this is a matter of perception and it is more important how hard the rivals are willing to work to catch up with the big two. “It depends on how you look at it. If you talk about a medium club winning La Liga, it’s difficult because the club will have to increase their revenues. So it’s going to be tough for clubs like Levante to win La Liga,” he said.
But many local teams have not done enough to be of commercial value to attract local companies to sponsor them. A total of RM18 million are allotted for the M-League stakeholders from the various sponsors this season.
