After an eight-day retrial a jury finds Geraldton man Thomas 'Graham' Greenaway guilty of 33 counts of stealing from the Yugunga-Nya People's Trust while he was trustee.

A jury found Thomas 'Graham' Greenaway guilty of stealing around $3 million from the Yugunga-Nya people's trust, to invest into the Freemason's hotel.A former Geraldton financial advisor has been found guilty of stealing $2.9 million from an Aboriginal charitable trust while acting as its trustee.

and the court ordered a new trial on the stealing charges but acquitted him of gaining a benefit with intent to defraud from an Aboriginal charitable trust. In an eight-day trial before a jury in the Geraldton Magistrates Court, witnesses included ex-members of the Yugunga-Nya's people's trust advisory committee to business partners and a police officer.

"When you look at that in context it's clear the trustee has been asked to look for property in Meekatharra and Geraldton for the purpose of employment opportunities," Mr Mossop said.A common theme throughout the trial was why Greenaway named the company which invested in the Freemason's hotel FAWRKT, which the jury heard was named using the initials of his wife and children.
