Federal prosecutors said 40-year-old Brittany Hudson, of Atlanta, was found guilty on 30 counts tied to fraud, money laundering, and forging the signature of a federal judge. The level of greed on the part of the perpetrators in this case was staggering,” said Special Agent in Charge Robert Donovan of the U.S. Secret Service Atlanta Field Office. “Leveraging personal relationships, she stole millions from Amazon and was so confident she wouldn’t be caught, she even forged the signature of a federal judge with the intent of defrauding a second company. Prosecutors say Hudson owned Legend Express LLC, a business contracted with Amazon to deliver packages. They say she worked with Kayricka Wortham, an operations manager at an Amazon warehouse in Smyrna, Georgia, to carry out the scheme. They said she worked with Kayricka Wortham, an operations manager at an Amazon warehouse in Smyrna, Georgia, to carry out the scheme. Authorities said the two created fake vendors and submitted fraudulent invoices between January and June 2022. Wortham used her position to approve those vendors and invoices, leading Amazon to pay out about $9.4 million. Investigators said the money was funneled into accounts controlled by Hudson, Wortham, and others, then spent on high-end purchases, including a nearly $1 million home and several luxury vehicles.
