Noah Baumbach Knows How to Do Emotionally Damaging Whimsy Baumbach as a filmmaker has had some great movies that all have an element of"whimsy" to them. The Squid and the Whale provided many a beautiful New York staple to visit for its beauty and mystery with the whale in the American Museum of Natural History. He was one half of the writing team on Barbie, which allowed many to dream of living in Barbieland. The point is, his films have a fun fantastical element to them and Jay Kelly seems to be leaning heavily into that. The themes of Jay Kelly are going to provide audiences a lot to talk about, especially with Clooney at the front and center of the film.
