A new study reportedly has the government seriously considering a ban on gas stoves.
Well, if you do, be aware that it might just be bad for your health, and because of that the government is looking into doing away with them altogether.the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission is considering a federal ban on such stoves because several scientific studies have shown that they have a negative impact on health, particularly, of children.
Yahoo News reported that the agency is set to begin discussing the issue this winter. It reported that this began to gain steam last week after a peer-reviewed study was published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. It said that study concluded “that gas stoves, which are used in roughly 40% of U.S. homes, were responsible for 12.7% of childhood asthma cases in the country.
While this study is most recent, Yahoo News said that as far back as 2013 data showed that the stoves were not safe, particularly for children.
