Gas prices are the highest they have been in months in South-Central Pennsylvania.
UP. JAY. WELL GOOD MORNING MATT. GOOD MORNING CAITLIN. GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY. AND YES, YOU SEE THE SUN RISING OVER MY SHOULDER. AND THAT’S NOT THE ONLY THING THAT ARE RISING. THE GAS PRICES HAVE ALSO BEEN ON THEIR WAY UP. AND YOUR EYES HAVE NOT BEEN DECEIVING YOU. GAS PRICES HAVE ACTUALLY JUMPED TO THEIR HIGHEST LEVEL IN MONTHS. AND ANALYSTS SAY THAT MOST OF THE BLAME CAN ACTUALLY BE PLACED ON THE CALENDAR BECAUSE IT IS SEEMINGLY TIME FOR THE ANNUAL INCREASE THAT IS NOW HAPPENING.
“Refineries start doing maintenance to prepare for the summer driving season. That maintenance sees shut downs, less gasoline being produced and also a switch-over to summer gasoline, which will start here in just a week or two across much of the country,” said Patrick De Haan of Gasbuddy.According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.28. That’s up 9 cents from last week and 19 cents from a month ago.
In Pennsylvania, AAA says the average is $3.55 a gallon, which is 11 cents more than a week ago and 20 cents higher than last month. In the Susquehanna Valley, AAA says you’ll find the cheapest gas in the Lebanon area at $3.52 a gallon. The average in Harrisburg and Gettsyburg is $3.58.If it feels like prices are particularly high in Pa., you’d be right. AAA says the state has the sixth highest average in the U.S. And, we pay more than any other state east of Nevada.
