Gary Police are seeking information on a shooting in which a man shot his girlfriend.
Gary Police spokesman Cmdr. Sam Roberts said in a release Monday that police at 3 a.m. Oct. 12 were sent to Methodist Hospital’s Northlake campus for a shooting victim. There, they talked to a 56-year-old Gary woman who said she was either in the area of 21st Avenue or 23rd Avenue and Morton Street when she and her boyfriend began arguing.
The victim said her boyfriend demanded she get in his car — a blue Chevy Impala — but she refused and walked away from him, Roberts said in the release. He then started shooting and hit her in her right leg, he said, after which he brought her to the hospital, according to a witness. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Olivia Vasquez at 881-1210.
