Garfield Heights officers recovered a two-year-old from the back of a car involved in a chase Saturday.
The 17-year-old driving the car was taken to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center, officers confirmed. Charges are pending for felony fleeing and eluding, child endangerment and traffic charges.
GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio - Garfield Heights officers recovered a two-year-old from the back of a car involved in a chase Saturday. Police say it was around 2:30 p.m. when they were alerted to a car pinged as a felony vehicle on Granger Road. The car was wanted for fleeing from police and endangering pedestrians in a neighboring city, police say. Officers say they found the car at Monica Lane and Thraves Road and attempted to stop the car, but initiated a chase after the driver refused to pull over.Officers successfully deployed stop sticks on Granger Road at Turney Road, according to a report from police. The car eventually stopped in the construction area on Granger Road hill before the driver attempted to flee on foot and was caught. Police located a two-year-old child uninjured in the back seat of the car.
