West Valley City Battalion Chief Brandon Howard said crews responded to the fire at 4073 W. 4490 South just after noon.He said heavy smoke was coming from the garage and the roof of the home. Crews attacked the fire and brought it under control “fairly quickly,” according to Howard. Howard said firefighters rescued a dog from the home, and no one else was inside at the time of the fire.
