Frontgate’s best Plano customers are making the drive down the Tollway to the new store which is surrounded by ZIP code demographics that are spot on, the retailer said.
Being closer to the Dallas Design District and the trade professionals was also important to the move, Bazzone said. Frontgate has always had a business-to-business operation but is pushing into that business more with online tools for designers to log in from their homes and a new design studio across the back of the new Dallas stores.
“We’re really excited about our new location,” Bazzone said. “In a market like Dallas, you have to be very opportunistic and when I saw Tyler’s take the first half of the former Barnes & Noble, I thought this is really perfect for us.” The store opens into a vestibule entryway that Bazzone said is meant to have the shopper think about a classic Highland Park home foyer. In the store’s case, it’s an introduction to the brand and highlights the time of year.
