A 37-year-old Harrisburg man was convicted Wednesday after he purchased firearms for convicted felons, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania said.
Johnny Quinones was found guilty of straw purchasing a gun, possession of a firearm and ammunition as a felon and conspiracy, according to a press release.would buy firearms for convicted felons and people under indictment. Quinones was not allowed to possess or purchase firearms due to a previous felony conviction, the Department of Justice said.
The investigation into Quinones began after police in Harrisburg suspected he was involved in an Aug. 11, 2020, shooting. The investigation also revealed that Taashaun Mansfield, also of Harrisburg, was buying guns for convicted felons as well.purchased seven guns over two months – all of which were given to felons – and lied on the forms about who was going to receive the firearms.
