Four men are facing felony charges after police say they burglarized a Shippensburg University fraternity following a party on February 8. Jishuan Statum, 19, Leevon Plank, 20, Carter Brindle, 23, and Nyson Keepler, 20, are facing a range of felony charges stemming from the incident, including burglary, criminal conspiracy , and firearm offenses. State police were dispatched to the Theta Xi fraternity residence on 42 Sunbeam Court around 4:50 a.m. on February 8 on reports of a burglary.
The victim told police that he was hosting a party at the off-campus fraternity residence but decided to start shutting it down after things escalated. While attempting to evict guests, a fight reportedly broke out and spilled into the parking lot. At this point, the victim stated that four men tried to break into the rear entrance, with one perpetrator allegedly wielding a semi-automatic pistol. The victim told police that he and other fraternity members barricaded themselves in the bathroom. Charging documents indicate that a gaming computer, an XBOX One console, a MacBook Pro, and AirPod Pros were stolen from the residence. Within an hour of arriving at the scene, investigators spoke with Jishuan Statum, who said that after a fight broke out, he rejoined his friends Keepler, Plank, and Brindle. Statum further told police that he and his friends were attempting to kick in the back door at the rear entrance of the fraternity. Police also obtained surveillance video from the fraternity that showed the four men yelling and trying to break in. According to police records, the victim's stolen laptop was located after a pinging locator revealed that the computer was at 248 W. Catherine Street in Chambersburg. Police then found both Nyson Keepler and Leevon Plank at the residence with the reported stolen items. Law enforcement searched the residence and also discovered a black semi-automatic pistol, a 10-round magazine, over $1,400 in cash, a black digital scale, 182g of marijuana, and a piece of paper with Keepler's full name printed on it. Investigators spoke with Plank, who stated that he did enter the victim's bedroom on February 8 after the party and stole a MacBook and a PC tower before leaving. Police say that Keepler denied entering the bedroom or stealing any items, stating that he left the party after the fight broke out. Keepler, Statum, and Plank are currently being held in Cumberland County Prison awaiting a February 12 preliminary hearing
