A federal grand jury on Tuesday indicted four men for allegedly setting fire to the Minneapolis Police Department’s Third Precinct during protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death, U.S. Attorney Erica MacDonald said.... [+]Dylan Shakespeare Robinson, 22; Davon De-Andre Turner, 24; Bryce Michael Williams, 26; and Branden Michael Wolfe, 23, were each indicted on one federal count of conspiracy to commit arson.
The indictment says that Robinson lit an incendiary device held by an unidentified co-conspirator and threw it toward the building, while Turner and Williams lit a Molotov cocktail brought into the precinct by Turner, and Wolfe pushed a barrel into a fire at the entrance of the building to accelerate the blaze.their arrest “serves as a warning” to those who are “hijacking peaceful protests.”
In the meantime, Minneapolis plans to spend $4.8 million over the next three years to temporarily rent an office building to serve as a replacement for the Third Precinct.Dozens of other protesters have been arrested on federal charges related to protests and riots after Floyd’s death. At least 51
