, an eight-part television series directed by Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino will have its world premiere in San Sebastian as part of the festival's special screenings program. Produced by HBO and European pay-TV group Sky, the series is a coming-of-age tale exploring friendship, first love and sexual identity through the story of two adolescents living on an American military base in Italy.
Sean Conway created the series, which Guadagnino co-wrote together with Paolo Giordano and Francesca Manieri.was initially selected for the Directors' Fortnight sidebar in Cannes before the festival was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. San Sebastian will screen the entire eight-episode first season of the show.
