Peacemaker season 2 is very important for James Gunn's DCU plans, with the director having revealed that it sets up his Superman movie sequel, Man of Tomorrow.
To that end, the live-action DC show's release led to Superman coming to streaming early. Gunn wanted as many fans as possible to have seen Superman before Peacemaker season 2's final three episodes, which were not sent to the press for reviews to protect major spoilers. Now that Peacemaker season 2, episode 6's ending has been released, fans know why Gunn wanted to keep a reveal under lock. It puts everything under review, including the opening dance sequence. Peacemaker Season 2's Big Twist Has Changed How Fans View Its Opening Dance Sequence In Peacemaker season 2, episode 6, the DC series finally reveals what is wrong with the alternate dimension that John Cena's Peacemaker thinks is perfect. After spending a short time in the other universe, Emilia Harcourt quickly discovers that things are not as they seem. Instead of a perfect reality, the alternate dimension is ruled by Nazis. That explains why Peacemaker's father, Blue Dragon, is seen as a hero. The Nazis won, controlling the United States and likely putting people of color in prisons or labor camps, as Keith, Peacemaker's brother, who is alive in the other dimension, mentioned that"a Black" had escaped when he started chasing Leota Adebayo. The DC plot twist changed everything. It has led to fans rewatching Peacemaker season 2 to find clues, such as the absence of non-white actors in the background of alternate universe scenes. To that effect, many fans believe that the Peacemaker dance sequence included foreshadowing for the reveal. At the start of the dance, Peacemaker makes odd arm movements that are now being thought to form the Nazi swastika. Why The Peacemaker Fortnite Emote Was Pulled After The Show's Season 2 Twist Following Peacemaker season 2, episode 6's release, Fortnite pulled the dance emote from the game. According to Epic Games, the decision to disable the"Peaceful Hips" emote was made as the studio addresses the situation with DC to ascertain the comic book giant's"creative intentions" behind the collab emote. There is a chance it could return, but if not, it will be refunded. Given the secretive nature of the story, it seems that if the dance sequence's goal was to foreshadow the Peacemaker season 2 Nazi twist, that information was not shared with Epic Games. As such, Fortnite removed the emote to make sure players were not unknowingly reproducing Nazi iconography.
