Fort Novosel, Alabama, resumes normal operations after a brief suspension due to winter storm. Roadways reopened but caution advised. MWR facilities, Lyster Army Health Clinic, and other services return to regular hours.

FORT NOVOSEL , Ala. - After suspending operations for a few days following the winter storm on Tuesday, Fort Novosel announced their return to normal operations on Friday, January 24. The Army post confirmed in a social media update that roadways have been reopened. However, drivers are advised to exercise caution as they navigate the roads and bridges, as Christian, Farrell, and Artillery Roads still have patches of ice.

MWR facilities on post, including fitness centers, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), Commissary, and food court, will all be open during their regular hours. Divots will also operate during normal hours, but The Silver Wings golf course remains closed due to weather conditions. Lyster Army Health Clinic will resume normal hours on Friday, with all patient and clinical services, including lab services and pharmacy, open to patients at 7:30 a.m. Due to staffing shortages caused by weather and school closures, patients may experience longer wait times, particularly at the Pharmacy. Fort Novosel encourages individuals to use Q-Anywhere to activate new prescriptions by texting 'Get in line' to 833-429-7248. Brown Dental Clinic and the CDC and School Age Center will also resume normal operations on Friday. Daleville, Enterprise, Ozark, and Faulkner gates will return to their regular operating hours tomorrow, with the Faulkner gate opening at 11 a.m. on Friday and returning to normal operation on Monday, January 27
