Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) in 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'
Plenty of actors spend their whole careers trying to get into the Wizarding World once. Hero Fiennes Tiffin already did it before most people even knew his name, playing young Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Now, with HBO’s new series continuing to build out its cast, the actor is making it pretty clear he would not mind going back. Speaking with ScreenRant, Tiffin admitted he would be open to another trip into the franchise. Tidied up slightly, his answer was about as direct as fans could want: “Yeah, no, definitely, of course. I’d definitely consider it.” He added, “I would definitely entertain the conversation regarding being involved in Harry Potter again.” What makes the quote more interesting is that Tiffin did not frame his old role as some childhood credit he has moved on from. As part of a segment debunking AI claims — an LLM had stated he had previously"expressed pride" in playing Young Tom Riddle, which he admitted he probably had done in the past — Tiffin spoke warmly about his time in Potter. Coming from someone now leading Prime Video’s Young Sherlock, it also feels like the kind of comment that will instantly get fans wondering whether HBO could find a way to bring him back into the fold as an older version of Voldemort, a Ministry figure, or something entirely new. Did Hero Fiennes Tiffin Enjoy Harry Potter? It's hard to say anything but no from the brief anecdote he gave about his scene. Tiffin also reflected on what he learned the first time around, and those memories clearly stuck with him. He recalled that director David Yates and Michael Gambon helped teach him how important it was to keep the process fun and fresh, especially on a production built around young performers, but added that Gambon made the entire thing a really fun experience, having spent years working with younger actors and picking up a few tricks on how to keep them entertained. Turning up in a flash sports car also seemed to impress the young Tiffin, whose uncle Ralph Fiennes of course starred as Voldemort in four of the Potter films.
