Bush is the 46th former Trojan to be elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.
Seventeen years after his illustrious college career came to an end, USC’s Reggie Bush earned a new honor on Monday as he was named a member of the College Football Hall of Fame’s 2023 class.
Alongside 18 other players including Tim Tebow and Dwight Freeney, Bush will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at a Dec. 5 dinner in Las Vegas before being enshrined in the Hall in Atlanta. Bush’s teams at USC won national championships following his freshman and sophomore seasons before losing the national title in 2006 in the famous Rose Bowl loss to Vince Young and Texas. In his three seasons, Bush rushed for a total of 3,169 yards and 25 touchdowns and set an NCAA record with 7.3 yards per carry during his career.
Bush won two Pac-10 Player of the Year awards and was a consensus first-team All-American in 2004 and a unanimous selection in 2005. The 2005 season was the one in which Bush won the Heisman Trophy after leading all of college football with 222.3 all-purpose yards per game. Bush is the 46th former Trojan to be elected to the College Football Hall of Fame and 35th former player.
