Candidates already in the pool include Leora Joseph, the director of the state’s Office of Behavioral Health. Joseph is a former chief deputy district attorney for the state’s 18th Judicial District and chief of staff to former Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman. As of Wednesday, Joseph’s campaign had brought in more than $114,000 in contributions, according to state records.
“His long service to public safety and commitment to fairness and equity have made me certain that he is the right person for this job right now,” McCabe said in an interview with The Post. “Also, I’m confident he can win this election.”Black, Hispanic people more likely to be held in jail before conviction, according to Colorado DA data
