Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Michael Vick is in talks to become the head coach at Norfolk State.
Former NFL quarterback Michael Vick throws the football before the NFL Pro Bowl football game, Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, in Orlando, Fla. is in talks to become the head coach of Norfolk State. Vick’s coaching experience was as an advisor to with the Atlanta Legends in 2019, but the quarterback is a legend at Virginia Tech and was electric with the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles.
Vick has never coached at the collegiate level. In Hampton Roads, Vick has long been supported by the local community, and the school contacted him for an interview. It seems that Vick is starting to reciprocate interest. “Vick said Norfolk State officials reached out to him and that he is intrigued by the potential opportunity of giving back to the Hampton Roads community that has long supported him,”
Vick said that a resolution to the interest should come soon. He played as a backup quarterback for the Steelers in 2015 and then retired afterward.
