John Castillo, 31, of Grove City, was sentenced Wednesday after he pleaded guilty in June to possession with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A former Columbus police officer was sentenced to nearly four years in prison after he admitted to stealing cocaine and then arranging to sell the drugs.

Castillo was a police officer assigned to investigate drug crimes in February 2021 when he conspired with another officer to take about 10 kilograms of cocaine from a house in Columbus and did not turn it into evidence.
