Walworth, N.Y. — The former chief of the Macedon Police Department has reached a guilty plea for drunk driving. Fabian Rivera pleaded guilty May 1 in Walworth Town Court to driving while intoxicated in both Walworth and Macedon the morning of Nov. 20.According to court documents, then-Macedon Police Sgt. Brigette Goodfriend and Officer-in-Training Nash Ritz drove Rivera to his home in Walworth after the crash. There, he allegedly got into his personal car and, once again, drove while intoxicated.

Upon seeing Rivera's car leave the driveway, according to court documents, Goodfriend said she called Rivera and asked him to return. He complied and Macedon police conducted field sobriety tests.After the Wayne County Sheriff's Office took over the investigation, Sheriff Rob Milby confirmed Rivera's blood alcohol content was 0.25 — more than three times the legal limit. RiveraUpon pleading guilty, Rivera provided the court with proof of treatment for alcohol abuse.
