A 11-year veteran correctional officer at Lewis Prison was terminated after an investigation revealed his involvement in distributing drugs and contraband within the facility.
A Lewis Prison Correctional Officer of 11 years was fired by the Arizona Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and Reentry for his role in distributing drugs at the prison.Berman Comon was released from his position as a Correctional Officer in early January.An investigation launched five months ago produced evidence, including video footage, that showed Comon distributing drugs and contraband within the prison community.
ADCRR said that his actions did not involve any other staff members and that Comon was arrested for his actions.The Maricopa County Drug Suppression Task Force assisted in the investigation.'The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry (ADCRR) takes immense pride in the dedication and professionalism our officers demonstrate daily in maintaining the safety of the community, staff, and inmates.
