at ESPN’s Mina Kimes, former 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia doubled-down on the same points he made in his Instagram comments while lashing out at people calling him sexist., Garcia fired back at the criticism sent his way, saying he doesn’t “owe anybody an apology for my belief and my experience at playing the quarterback position.”
It’s a point that people have made countless times, but the former San Jose State star chose this specific instance to respond to, saying “Who the hell is Mina Kimes and when is the last time she threw a touchdown pass in a game?” Garcia doubled down in the interview, clarifying that he didn’t happen to care who it was that said it but he just so happened to find Kimes’ comments and — in his words – “put it in somebody else’s face when they rip on somebody that doesn’t know anything about...
Still, it’s a narrow-mindedness that Johnson even makes note of as the interview was coming to an end, which concluded when Garcia hung up abruptly. Johnson said Garcia “sounded like a dude that thought he was playing Sunday” and seemed disappointed that Garcia had no remorse for his comments.
