Ford is set to ramp up production of lower-end Escapes, Explorers, and F-150s
New car prices have soared in recent years, leaving few affordable options for customers. Buyers are now looking for value as their wallets are being squeezed by a variety of factors. To appease shoppers, Ford is bringing back base trims and increasing production of affordable variants. Thanks to inflation, a global pandemic, and the carpocalypse, new car prices have skyrocketed.
Ford’s war on affordability also saw them eliminate entry-level trims to pad their bottom line and better reflect what a majority of customers wanted. However, consumers are now feeling financial pressure and they’re putting a renewed focus on value. Ford is listening as Automotive News is reporting the company will increase production of lower-end Escapes, Explorers, and F-150s. It also sounds like we can expect more base trims in the future.
