LAS VEGAS — For the first time since 2007 and the third time in more than two decades, San Diego State was not represented on the preseason all-Mountain West football team.
Boise State defensive lineman Ahmed Hassanein and UNLV linebacker Jackson Woodard were selected co-Defensive Player of the Year. The only other years SDSU has not been represented on the preseason team were in 2002 and 2007. SDSU annually averaged four players on the team over the past decade, with a school=record eight representatives in 2022.
But the four spots went to three all-conference returners — Colorado State’s Jack Howell, UNLV’s Cameron Oliver and Utah State’s Ike Larsen — along with Boise State standout A’Marion McCoy.
