Football is expected to return to South Korea on Friday, with the K League set to become Asia’s first league to return to competitive play after a two-month forced hiatus owing to the Covid-19 coronavirus

However, strict rules have been imposed on the country’s 12-team K League 1, with no celebrations, handshakes or spitting allowed, as well as playing in empty stadiums.

Cases in South Korea have increased by mostly single digits since mid-April, with 255 deaths, 10 806 confirmed cases and 9 333 recoveries as of May 5.In Spain, La Liga announced that clubs could return to training this week, with medical tests to be carried out by respective club staff. This directive applies to the top two tiers of Spanish football and was approved by the country’s health ministry.

Paris Saint-Germain were declared champions for the third year in a row, however, some clubs are not happy with the decision as relegation, European football placement and league standings have all been affected.
