Illinois households receiving payments from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will begin collecting a maximum payment of $2,113 on Tuesday.
Specific arrival dates will depend on an eligible SNAP household's Social Security number, case number, account number, or last name.In Illinois, payments are sent out from Aug. 1 to Aug. 10. Older cases are sent out on Aug. 1 as well but continue until Aug. 20.
Approximately 1.98 million people, or 16% of the population, receive food stamps in the Prairie State. The average payment per household member per month is $189.
