Detectives are seeking a warrant for first-degree murder against Jorge Javier Quintero, 41, in the death of 29-year-old Carmen Elsa Escalante Carrera.
Detectives with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office are seeking a warrant for first-degree murder against Jorge Javier Quintero, 41, after his girlfriend, 29-year-old Carmen Elsa Escalante Carrera, was found dead Thursday by Georgia law enforcement, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to Maribou Circle in eastern Orange County on Tuesday to do a well-being check on Quintero after he reportedly made suicidal statements to family members but found neither him nor Escalante Carrera there. Quintero was tracked to Saraland in a rental pickup truck and was shot in the encounter with the United States Marshals Service. He was transported to the hospital, where he remained in critical condition as of Monday, the release said.
The Sheriff’s Office worked subsequently with law enforcement in Alabama and Georgia to search for Escalante Carrera. Law enforcement in Georgia found what was described as “an object” they suspected to contain a body on Thursday, and the body was identified as Escalante Carrera over the weekend.If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
