Athletics director Greg Byrne expressed confidence Friday in the future of Alabama football under coach Kalen DeBoer.

You hired a coach for the long haul, for a marathon.” And Byrne is keeping that perspective. “Did a game go the way we wanted it to in Nashville? No,” Byrne said. “Vandy deserves credit for that. But at the same time too, I’m dang proud about where we are and I’m dang proud of what we have ahead of ourselves.”
“They’re coaching to get better every single week,” Byrne said. “There are teams we’ve had in the past that have struggled different times of the year and gotten better. I have full confidence that we’re going to continue to get better every single week.”
