A man and woman are charged in federal court with cyberstalking and attempted extortion.AKRON, Ohio—

Authorities in Florida arrested the pair July 13, and the case was transferred to U.S. District Judge Donald Nugent’s court in Cleveland., said the harassment had nothing to do with her role as a judge and that she never had any cases involving Joseph or Logan. The indictment and FBI affidavit in the case lays out a series of bizarre messages sent to politicians, police officials and O’Brien, but the records do not list their names.confirmed the victims through interviews, social media posts and public records.

O’Brien and Brzuziewski divorced in 2008. He is an attorney who co-founded Hurricane Labs, a cybersecurity company based in Beachwood. Logan told Brzuziewski in April 2019 that she was pregnant with his child and demanded $20,000. Chris said no such child ever existed, and it was only a ploy to extort his client. Brzuziewski and Chris reported it to the FBI.

In the messages, Joseph often criticized the judge’s son, the FBI said. He believed the FBI was conducting covert surveillance on him or had even broken into his home. He referenced several real FBI agents, but also one who, according to court records, was a completely fabricated agent named John Southwick.
