A man and woman from Florida were arrested at Miami International Airport for allegedly attempting to force their way through security and assaulting a staff member. The incident occurred while they were trying to board an American Airlines flight to Cancun.

A man and woman from Florida were arrested for allegedly forcing their way through airport security at Miami International Airport -- and one of them threw coffee in a staff member's face, according to reports.

In an effort to board the plane, they tried to push themselves through security, the media outlet noted.appears to show multiple officers trying to restrain Seirafe-Novaes, with another staffer grabbing Rapoport De Campos Maia's arm before sitting her down in a chair.shows Seirafe-Novaes being led from the scene in a pair of handcuffs before he's placed in the back of a cop car."Guy had enough time to get a coffee but not be at his gate on time...the sense of entitlement is real," another added."They are closing that door earlier and earlier. On my flight in December, the plane door was closed and locked 20 minutes before takeoff," one person wrote. "There’s another video showing that they were at the gate while other people were still boarding. So I don’t think they were actually late," another added. According to reports, Seirafe-Novae fought with a gate attendant, with one of the suspect's throwing coffee on someone. Police were then called, and he and Rapoport De Campos Maia taken into custody. Seirafe-Novaes and Rapoport De Campos Maia were each charged with two counts of battery and trespassing on property after warning, while Seirafe-Novaes was also charged with resisting arrest, booking records note."Prior to boarding American Airlines flight 2494 from Miami to Cancun , law enforcement responded to the gate for two disruptive customers," American Airlines said in a statement to. "Acts of violence are not tolerated by American Airlines and we are committed to working closely with law enforcement in their investigation."
