Storm Babet wreaked havoc across the UK earlier this week
Water levels are falling across Greater Manchester but flood alerts remain in place after heavy rain battered the region.In Greater Manchester, residents in parts of Tameside, Manchester, and Stockport were warned to 'act now' over likely flooding on Friday .
The Environment Agency said of the south Manchester warnings today: “River levels are rising on the River Mersey due to Storm Babet. “Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
