MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The unsettled weather pattern continues now through the weekend. As a surge of moisture has returned to Alabama. Each day will feature the chance for showers and thunderstorms, but it will not be a total wash out, with partly to mostly cloudy skies in between the rain chances.
As for the humidity, it will be noticeable with a muggy feeling in the air. Out-the-door this morning is mild. Temperatures are in the 60s with clouds around. Patchy fog has formed as well, dense in spots. Light mist is possible in areas seeing the fog. Winds are light out of the southwest. Thursday will be warm. Highs will climb into the lower to middle 80s under a mix of sun and clouds. Winds will be out of the southwest around 5 mph. Scattered rain and storm chances are possible this afternoon and evening. A few storms could be on the stronger side, with damaging wind gusts and hail as the primary threats. Tonight one or two showers will be possible tonight. Lows will remain mild in the 60s with plenty of clouds around. Winds will be west around 5 mph. Highs will be in the 70s and 80s. Isolated to scattered rain and storms will be possible by the afternoon. Winds will be out of the west around 5 mph. First Alert for rain and storms increasing late Friday, through Friday night and into the start of our Saturday. A low pressure will spin moisture in our direction from the gulf, elevating our rain chances. Lows during this period will be in the 60s, plenty of clouds around, with gusting winds. Rain chances remain in the forecast for Mother’s Day weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday will see scattered rain and storm chances. Highs will be in the 70s while overnight lows will be in the 50s and 70s. With breezy winds around to start the weekend. This active weather pattern is forecast to remain in place to start next week, as there will be no driving force to change the pattern back to dry weather Monday and Tuesday.
