Brisk mornings give way to sunny and cool afternoons.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Hello Autumn! Like, true fall-like weather: noticeably colder air has funneled into the state, so will it stick around? With each day now through Saturday featuring brisk mornings giving way to cool, sunny fall afternoons, I think the answer is yes! Tuesday was just the beginning of the cooler than normal highs and low... highs warmed into the 70s with winds out of the northwest around 5 to 10 mph.In fact, the next few nights will be sharply cooler, too.
While this week will be beautiful, some rain would also be a welcome development. The latest drought monitor shows much of Alabama under abnormally dry to moderate drought conditions, and with a forecast calling for no widespread rain, this week’s drought update will only worsen as dry weather persists. The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a potential area that has a medium chance for development over the next week.
An additional area of storms in the southwestern Caribbean Sea has a low potential for development. Even if it does, it will likely get pulled westward into central America.Reports: Woman in Alabama chase, standoff shot ex-boyfriend at Texas police stationMan killed in Alexander City shootingFirst Alert: A Fall chill arrives in AlabamaFirst Alert: Even cooler air coming soon!
